2 # explicit permission
The second level of permission is explicitly permitted. In this case, someone fills up an online membership form to join your email list, the person has given explicit permission to send you email that specifies your email sign-up form. Clear permission is the industry standard widely used for email marketing. If you run marketing campaigns for a general website or blog that does not sell any products or services directly to customers, then this is the required level of permission for you.
3 # Permission Confirmation
This is the third and the strongest level of permission, which is also called Double Opt-in Permission. The confirmed assent helps you to ensure that the recipients of your email list are highly interested in receiving your emails and confirming the permission usually improves your distribution rates.
Confirmed permission often works in two levels:
- At level 1, a person shows a clear interest in becoming part of your weekly email list, as if you filled out the customer’s form on your site.
- In level 2, you send an email by asking him to confirm the decision to join your list by clicking on a link or answering the confirmation email with a specific message.
Now I would like to focus your attention in some forms of permission which really can give you trouble. You should avoid making your list based on someone else’s permission.
