When Did You Last On the Computer? Learn the Exact Time
To help you, a simple DOS command, you can remember the exact date and time when you switched on the computer.
Most office staff do not shut down the computer at night – they simply lock the workstation and close the monitor but it does not prevent computers from consuming electricity.
According to estimates, 30% of all office PCs in the US are left all night, while 18% of office workers in the UK believe that they have never closed the computer at night or weekend.
So do you remember the correct date or time on the last switch on the computer?
Here’s a simple dos command to help you:
systeminfo | find /i “boot time”
This will show the time when you rebooted the computer again.
From that time on, you will know how long you are running the computer.
Alternatively, you can start Windows Task Manager (Alt + Ctrl + Del), switch to the Display tab, and you should see a field called “up time” – it’s even more convenient but some computers have Task Manager disabled.
