How to Transfer Videos From 8mm or VHS Tapes to a DVD or Computer?

Make a DVD or CD from your old VHS tape and vinyl record. Transfer videos to DVD-Video Disc from your VHS tape.

To burn your old VHS or Hi-8 tape DVD or to transfer that video to a computer, you need a VCR, a DV camera and a Firewire cable. If you do not have a DV camera, you can use a TV Tuner card to transfer video from VCR to computer.

Just connect the DV camera to both VCR and computer – In analog form, the video is relayed from VCR to DV camera, which converts it into digital video and sends it to the computer.

Use an overall S-Video cable for an old camcorder that does not have any firewire port.

Turn on VCR and DV camera in play mode and start recording on a computer using any other software such as Windows Movie Maker or Virtual Dub or Win Rec
