Category Specific RSS Feed Subscription WordPress Plugin allows you to add a menu with the option to subscribe to multiple RSS feed on your site besides the normal RSS subscription option.   4. Activate the plugin via the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

  5. Go to Settings and configure options.

  6. Alternatively, go to the Widget menu and add ‘Category specific RSS’ widget to the sidebar or add a shortcode to a post or page where you want to show the RSS feed widget.

There are three ways to use this plugin:

  1. Add category specific RSS widget to your sidebar from widget menu.

  2. Add shortcode [category_specific_rss_menu] to your WordPress post or page.

  3. Call the function from template files: <? Php echo show_cat_specific_rss_menu (); ?>

  4. Use [tag_specific_rss_menu] shortcode in your post, page, sidebar widget to add a tag specific RSS feed menu

  5. Use [tag_specific_rss_cloud] shortcode in your post, page, sidebar widget to add a tag cloud with the RSS feed of each tag

Plugin is required – WordPress 3.0 or higher is required.

Display category specific RSS for all categories

To show a list of all categories and one RSS feed for each of them, check the ‘Show category RSS for all categories’ option from the settings menu.

You can also toggle the current calculation performance of the posts in each category from the settings menu of the plugin.

Changing the Default RSS Image

To change the default RSS image, simply overwrite the image ‘rss_small_icon.png’ in the plugin directory with that image you want to use

Why does not the plugin provide an RSS feed?

One thing to keep in mind is that the ‘Category Specific RSS’ plugin will not be able to give you RSS feeds if you are using the default dynamic URL structure.
